What is LuciQA?
A desktop tool for selecting a screen question and asking your configured AI provider.
Is LuciQA free?
Yes. Free has no LuciQA question-count limit; provider quotas and costs still apply.
What does BYOK mean?
Bring Your Own API Key. Create a key with the provider you want to use and add it in Settings.
Do I need a paid AI API?
Not necessarily. Some supported providers offer a free tier or trial; availability changes.
Which free AI providers can I use?
Check our free AI API comparison and the provider’s current terms before choosing.
Does LuciQA send my screen to its own servers?
No LuciQA AI proxy is used. Selected OCR text or cropped images go directly to configured providers.
What is the difference between OCR and Image?
OCR reads clear text locally, then sends text. Image sends the selected crop for visual questions.
What does Pro add?
Multi, multiple and conditional providers, answer comparison, Exam Document and Custom System Instruction.
Is Pro a subscription?
No. USD 19.99 is a one-time purchase for Pro 1.x.
How many computers can I activate?
Up to three activated devices under the planned Lemon Squeezy license settings.
What if I change computers?
Deactivate the old device in Settings, then activate on the new one. Contact support if the old device is unavailable.
How do updates work?
Eligible production packages check for updates after startup. You can also check in Settings → Updates or the tray menu. You choose when to download and install; quitting normally does not install an update. Availability depends on your platform and installation. Public release validation is still in progress.
Which operating systems are supported?
The app targets macOS 13+, Windows 10+ and supported 64-bit Linux desktops. Windows and Linux need final native validation.
Can AI answers be wrong?
Yes. Model confidence is a self-estimate, not a calibrated probability. Verify important answers.
Can I use it for certification study?
Yes, for study and practice where allowed. Follow certification-provider and exam rules.
Where are API keys stored?
In local app settings, encrypted through OS secure storage when available. The app requires secure storage to use them.
How do I get a license key?
Lemon Squeezy provides the receipt and key through its customer/order flow after purchase.
What is the refund policy?
Request a refund within seven days at [email protected], subject to mandatory consumer rights.
